July 1st, 1965- July 14, 2023
The sudden passing of Kim Lockert occurred at her home on July 14th, 2023.
Kim was predeceased by her parents Robert and Shirley McDade, her sister Linda who died in infancy, and her mother and father-in-law Ed and Mary Lockert. She is survived by her husband Dan and her daughter Katie, as well as her three siblings Kevin (Rita) McDade, Lynne Woynarski and Lori (Terry) Wawryk; her brothers-in-law Richard (Andrea) Lockert, Bill Lockert, her sisters-in-law Bonita Mason, Heidi (Phil) Pasechnik and numerous nieces and nephews.
Born at St. Paul’s hospital in Saskatoon, Sk., Kim was the youngest child of Robert and Shirley McDade. As the baby of the family, she held a special place in everyone’s hearts. As she reached school age, she proved to be an excellent student, with a special love for the sciences. It was no surprise when she decided to become a lab tech. She was employed for over 30 years with the Saskatoon Health Region, eventually working her way up to the position of tech 3.
Outside of work, Kim had interests such as scrapbooking and music. She played piano and violin and was also a very good singer. She auditioned for and became part of the Magic City Chorus, where she thoroughly enjoyed working with and making friends with the ladies.
She was also an animal lover. She had many dogs over the years, as well as birds and fish. Sadly, she leaves behind her two Havanese, Maisie and Paddy.
Most of all she loved her family; her husband of 32 years, Dan, and her daughter Katie, to whom she was a loving and kind mother. She and Dan were very proud of Katie’s acceptance into the College of Dentistry.
Kim will be sadly missed, but never forgotten. Katie and Dan would like to thank Cherished Memories Funeral Services and Crematory for their care of Kim.
There will be a Celebration of Kim’s Life at a later date.

I am heartbroken to hear of Kim’s passing. I spent many years working alongside Kim and spending my coffee breaks with her. She was so proud of Katy and Kim’s face radiated when Katy was accepted into Dentistry. When Kim decided to retire it was bittersweet; I was happy to see her moving on towards new adventures but I was saddened because I would no longer see my friend at work. The last time I spoke with Kim she was so excited about future plans and travels. Take care, Dan and Katy. Just know that Kim was loved and I miss her.
Kim and I had many talks in our lunch room at work. She was always kind and I really enjoyed chatting with her. She always raved about Katie and was so proud of all her accomplishments. My thoughts and prayers are with you both. So sorry for your loss.
