when someone you love becomes a memory, the memory becomes a treasure Melva Doreen Holm, of Martensville, passed away peacefully on Friday, June 30, 2017 in St. Paul’s Hospital, Saskatoon, SK. Melva Krock was born May 10, 1931 in Rosthern, SK. She married William (Bill) Holm and they raised four children together while living in Alberta and finally settling in Saskatchewan. She was predeceased by her husband Bill in 1993; son Dennis in 2016; grandson Douglas in 2015; her father Walter and mother, Hilda; and sisters Darlene and Phylis. Melva is survived by three children, Dianna (Jim) Snowdon, Ronald (Marcia) Holm and Penny (Giles) Saulnier; daughter-in-law Judy (Dennis) Holm; ten grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; and special friend Leon Hancheryk. One of Melva’s greatest joys was camping. She loved it no matter if it was in the early days in a tent or later in a camper. She loved the camp fires and just being outside. There will be a graveside service for family and close friends, Monday, August 14, 2017 at 10 a.m. at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens, Saskatoon, SK Lucheon and visiting to follow: 11 a.m. - 3 p.m. at the Canalta Hotel, Martensville, SK. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Lung Association or the Heart & Stroke Foundation.
