Lawrence David Glassford peacefully passed away on September 3rd, 2017 in Saskatoon. Lawrence was born on December 27th, 1942 in Unity, Sk.  He was raised on the Glassford family farm and attended school nearby in Adanac and later years in Unity. Lawrence loved the outdoors whether it be hunting, snowmobiling, camping or simply enjoying a sunny prairie day.  Lawrence was a lifetime farmer who enjoyed the countless hours spent behind the wheel of a tractor or combine.  His love of operating equipment led him into a position with the RM of Round Valley operating a road grader.  Lawrence was known for being a perfectionist when maintaining and building roads and continued this for 36 years until retirement in 2013. Lawrence enjoyed the years spent working the land with his father, uncles, brother and son. He loved the old gospel songs, Jim Reeves tunes and a witty joke.  He was always ready to share a laugh, even with a stranger. Lawrence will be remembered for his kind ways, sense of humor and gentle spirit. Lawrence was pre-deceased by his parents, Millie and Wesley, sister Elaine, and infant brother Harold.   Lawrence will be lovingly remembered by his wife Hazel, daughter Holly (Trevor) McNutt, Truro,NS, son David(Darlene), North Battleford, step son Clayton Christie, Yellowknife, NT, step daughter Jilla (Brennan) Veltkamp, Saskatoon, brother Arnold (Sandra), Unity, grandchildren Jordyn, Ephram, Kennedy, Kirklan, Brett, Joelle and step-grandchildren Kiera, Deklan, Arianna, Alexis, great-grandson Haylen, nieces Marylee(Phillip),Melodee, nephew Marlowe(Natalie) and extended family. In memory of Lawrence donations can be made to Diabetes Canada. A private family interment will be held at the Adanac cemetery.
