It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Marcia Helen Slind of Saskatoon, SK on Tuesday, September 26, 2017. She was a loving, devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. A celebration of Marcia's life will be held in Cherished Memories Life Story Room at 2:00 p.m., Monday, October 2, 2017 with Jake Friesen officiating. Guests are invited to join the family for a luncheon at the Cherished Memories Reception Centre immediately following the celebration, with interment at the Gruenthal Church Cemetery after the luncheon. Marcia was born on March 5, 1950 in Selkirk, MB. Her family moved to Terrace, BC when she was a child. She moved to Saskatoon, SK in the early 1970s where she lived until her passing. She was an excellent seamstress, avid reader, and could play a mean game of Scrabble! She loved camping, boating, fishing, tubing, and ski-dooing. Many good memories come from time spent with family and friends at Greenwater and Diefenbaker lakes. She had a fun, exuberant personality; she was always in good cheer. She worked at Safeway for many years where she enjoyed interacting with customers. She was always pleasant, kind, and helpful. Marcia was predeceased by her father Howard Lang, mother Helen Doell, stepfather John Doell, her brothers Lyle Lang and Terry Lang, her son Jarl Slind, and his wife Corinne Slind. She is survived by her loving husband Larry Slind, daughter Cynthia English (Randy McDonald), granddaughter Andrea Evans (Nick Longpre), great-grandson Marshall Longpre, son Kevin Slind, sister Cheryl King (Ken), nephew Jason King, great-nephews Tristan and Dylan, nephewTrevor King (Sharlene), nephew Chad Lang (Linda), and great-nephews Kayden and Bell. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Rest in peace. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Diabetes Canada (www.diabetes.ca).
