Edward Zagiel, 89, passed away March 2, 2018 in Saskatoon, SK with family by his side. Ed was the eldest of two sons, born on March 17, 1928 to Andrew and Wilhelmina (Merkis) in Scott, SK. After the sudden passing of his father, he took over the family farm in the Unity area at a young age of 15.  On November 24, 1956, at the age of 28, Ed and Marion (Buchanan) were married in Red Deer, AB. By September 1957 they began their family of 9 children, the last being born in 1972.   In 1964 they had settled their family on the farm in the area of Clemenceau, Sk.   1972 brought a change to Ed's career, from farmer to working at Simpson Timber Co where he remained until 1990.  The family moved off the farm into Hudson Bay in 1974.  Over the years Ed enjoyed family camping. fishing, hockey, baseball and church functions. With the shutdown of the mill, and being on his own again (1986), Ed made his final move to Saskatoon in 1990.  Here he enjoyed his retirement years coffeeing,  gardening, watching/listening to Rider games and spending time with family as the number of grandchildren increased. Ed is predeceased by his father Andrew, mother Wilhelmina and brother Norbert.  He is survived by all 9 of his children; Larry (Daniella), Lynda (Tracy), Vera, Sandra, Anthony (Eileen), Trina, Sherry (Valwin), Vicki, Robert (Alison); 21 grandchildren; Daniel, Timothy, Lawrence, Terrilyn, Angela, Jason, David, Brittiany, Joshua, Kayla, Cassie, Joey, Cadence, Tyler, Aaron, Ashley, Colby, Merri, Reese, Olive & Grady; and 9 great grandchildren. Dad/Grandpa/Papa loved his family very much and had many great family stories he shared with pride.  He will be missed by many. A family celebration will be held at a later date.
