Marie Agnes Mildenberger (nee Jansen) (92 yrs) March 9, 1926 – April 15, 2018 Mom is breaking with tradition and has requested to have NO funeral as a farewell. She has chosen cremation and there will be a Celebration of Life at a later date. Celebrate today by praying for her and she asked that you pray for each other, love one another and forgive each other. Talk to your children about Jesus and pray with them. She loved it when the kids, grandkids and great grandkids prayed with her on the phone usually bedtime prayers, we had many conference calls with family that always ended with the Lord’s Prayer. Laughter was always welcome and she was able to laugh at herself over many misfortunes and mistakes or failures. She could get through much heartache by reaching out to others with a smile or helping hand. Mom graduated from nursing school (1949) from St. Elizabeth’s in Humboldt, SK. and formed many life lasting friendships, taking part in several nurse’s reunions over the years. Our “Grand Mother Goose” took her final flight in the early hours of April 15, 2018. She finally decided to trade her weary, tired, wings for something more light and angelic. In her final days she was surrounded by her beloved flock of goslings. There were memories, tears and laughter shed by all. She instilled in all her children a sense of love, survival, family connection, kindness to others, and faith in Jesus Christ. She married Donald Mildenberger in 1953 and continued to nurse as her family grew in numbers and her priority was set. We rejoice that she lived; we took delight in her motherly love. We treasure that we shared in her life; we cherish our memories of her. So it is with love that we leave her in peace. And it is with the greatest of respect that we bid her farewell... Granny was ready to go and was happy knowing her family is all together and that they don’t have to worry for her anymore. She has gone through too much suffering and never enjoyed the fuss over her. 92 years …..wow! She defied the odds and lasted long after her body’s expiration date. She was a great woman with a big heart and her best qualities have been passed on (and have been showcased) through her kids. Some of those include, family comes first, love for others, general compassion for people, willingness to step up to help, a gentle heart, love of laughter, overall goofiness, willingness to forgive, love for family and friends, love and respect for God, and the list goes on….. Rest in Peace Granny. We will all miss you and will never forget you. Submitted by Daniel Rauckman, eldest grandchild, on behalf of the grandchildren and great grandchildren.
