It is with deepest sorrow, that we announce the passing of our beloved Husband, Father, Grandfather, Brother and Uncle, Phyllip N.W. Virtue on December 23 at St. Paul’s Hospital. Left to cherish their memories are wife Mary, daughters Tanya and Kiersten (Glenn), and Grandson Nathan, who was the light of his life. He also leaves his brother Ron (Betty) and family, sisters Sheila (Ron) and family and Debby (David) and family. He was predeceased by his parents and two brothers, as well as his in-laws. Phil was born on July 3, 1949, at St. Paul’s Hospital, to Frank and Winnifred Virtue. He grew up in Saskatoon, and in his youth sang with the Saskatoon Boys Choir, and continued to enjoy singing and playing his guitar through out his life. He met Mary in April of 1981, and made her his wife and partner on December 10, 1986, and was welcomed into her extended family. He loved his two daughters and would have done anything for them and they for him. Phil and Mary made their home in Allan, where he worked for the PCS Allan division until his retirement in 2014. A long-time friend of Bill W. and Doctor Bob he received the gift of many brothers and sisters from “other mothers”. His was a familiar face in the Fellowship where he dedicated 35 years to helping others. You may no longer be with us, in body, but we know your spirit will live on. Rest in Peace. As per Phil’s wishes, there will be no funeral, but there will be a Celebration of his Life on August 4 .We will place a notice in the paper closer to this date with the time and place. The family would like to thank all who contributed to his health care in the last 2 years. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Saskatoon SPCA.
