It is with profound sadness that the family announces the passing of our beloved Wife and Mother Sandi after a brief but courageous battle with cancer at the age of 69.
She is survived by her husband Joe Kerger, and her loving children Jenifer Lloyd (Adam Lloyd) and Daniel Lane (Roe Rodriguez) as well as 4 beautiful grandchildren, and her beloved dogs Rip and Boo.
She is predeceased by her Mother Mary Jane MacKay, and her grandparents Katherine and Norman MacKay.
Sandi’s laugh was infectious, and she lit up a room anywhere she went. Her baking was unrivalled, no one will ever bake a pie quite like her. Her love of animals will forever be remembered, as well as her hard work ethic, working right up to a few weeks before she passed. She was an avid, and well-respected Bridge player who achieved her Life Masters as well as numerous other awards. Her greatest attribute, however, was her commitment to her family and friends. The most precious gift she gave us. She leaves a hole in our hearts, and the world doesn’t seem quite as bright without her.
We would like to thank the Palliative Home Care nurses that helped Mom be at home these last few months, as well as all of her friends and colleagues for the visits, food, and warm wishes.
She touched so many lives and left this world with nothing but peace and love in her heart.
At the request of Sandi, there will be no funeral, however there will be a Celebration of Life at a later date with close friends and family.
In Lieu of flowers please make a donation to an animal shelter of your choice in Sandi’s name.
Sandi,
I will never forget your laugh. When I think of you I can always hear you laughing at one of my terrible jokes. We shared a love for puns and dad jokes. I am going to miss trying to find jokes on facebook and sharing them with you.
The way you accepted not only me but my children into your family and immediately began treating my kids as your own grand children and me as a son will never be forgotten. You truly are a one of a kind and despite the sadness I feel today, I am so grateful to have been fortunate enough to have you in my life. Thank you for all the amazing memories… Until we meet again Mom, I love you.
Adam
My heart goes out to the family. I know from Jeni how important she was to the family. ❤️❤️ She was definitely loved and you will always have all your wonderful memories ❤️
Dear Joe, Jeni (& family), & Danny (& family):
It is with deepest sympathy that we send our thoughts and prayers to all of you. Sandi was one of the greatest people I had the pleasure of working with for a number of years. Alex & I cherish the memories we have of time spent with her & Joe and the friendship we shared. She absolutely did light up any room she walked into and her laugh was infectious. She had the greatest sense of humour, and I feel so blessed to to have had the opportunity of working with her! We spent hours on the phone over those years as we shared amusing stories, some shared frustrations, but a mutual love of teaching some legal assistant knowledge to our students. She will be deeply missed and so fondly remembered. Our donation in lieu of flowers will be made to Dogs With Wings in Sandi’s name. Rest In Peace Sandi, until we meet again!
Lots of love, Alex & Betty Beaton
I had the pleasure of knowing Sandi for only a short time. She was a wonderful woman. Always had a smile on her face and a laugh loaded and ready to go! Privileged to call her and Joe my friends. Until we meet again.
