With heavy hearts, we write our Mom’s obituary.
VIOLET IRMA JANE NYKYFORUK passed away peacefully at St.Pauls Hospital on December 21, -2021, with family by her side.
Mom began her 80 years on July 12, -1941, in Bradwell, Sask. She married our dad (Nester Nykyforuk) on April 16-1966. She is survived by their two children, Sherrie Frehlich and Derrick Nykyforuk, four grandchildren, Joshua Frehlich, Ashley (Dave) Grant, Dillion Nykyforuk, and Lexi Nykyforuk. Mom has a sister Darlene (Byran) Grace. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends that will miss her as we do. Mom was preceded by her other siblings and parents.
Mom had a lot of things that she enjoyed doing gardening, watching the birds, and seeing what new ones had come in the yard and puzzles, Mom was a stay-at-home mom, so there were always home-cooked meals and baking. She loved being outside, puttering around the yard, and roasting marshmallows and wieners on the firepit.
Mom was a hairdresser by trade; and a gifted seamstress, making many costumes, dance costumes, Halloween and Christmas. She could take a photo, make a pattern from the newspaper, and make it into the best costume. She took great pride in her work; she was a perfectionist; it had to be perfect. This dedicated mother never missed a recital, hockey game, or school event.
Mom’s joy was watching the grandkids grow, seeing them regularly, having supper, doing puzzles together, and celebrating special occasions. We all celebrated my Mom’s eightieth birthday just a few months ago, in the backyard, and she had the biggest smile ever., she knew how much she was loved and cherished.
Our Mom will be sadly missed; there is comfort knowing that we carry all her love, values, and memories in our hearts for the rest of our days.
Mom, you were there for our first breathes, and we were there for your last. May you have peace. God got an amazing angel.
We love you, Mom.
Till we see you again
Love your Family xoxoxoxoxoxo
Interment will be later, closer to spring, as Mom’s final resting spot is in Bradwell.
Our deepest sympathies.
