It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our dear Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother, Sister, Aunt and Friend.
Amy was born October 20th, 1939 in Carrot River SK,. to Obed and Doris Dahlseide. She was married in 1958 to Harvey Swingley and resided in Saskatoon for most of their married life, with a few years spent in Calgary. They raised 6 children and mom also took in foster babies for many years. They had a lake front cabin for over 30 years that they spent a lot of time at. Mom never learned to swim and very seldom ventured down to the water. She would rather spent her time on the deck, knitting, crocheting, bird watching and enjoying a coffee. She was never afraid to tackle a sewing project from making quilts, clothes, and recovering furniture. Everything was self taught through books or magazines on the subject. Mom was with the belief that if you could read and follow instructions “YOU COULD DO ANYTHING”. Mom, was employed at Lutheran Sunset Home for 30 years as a Special Care Aide.
Mom had a big heart and was always ready and willing to lend a hand. She was an avid knitter, crocheter and sewer. She made many wonderful things that we will cherish forever.
She was predeceased by her husband of over 60 years, Harvey Swingley in 2020, her Father Obed Dahlseide in 1974 and her Mother Doris Tapscott Dahlseide in 1980.
She is survived by her 6 children, several Grandchildren and Great grandchildren, two Sister and One Brother.
Memorial donations to Jubilee Residence in Care of Porteous Lodge in Amy’s memory would be an appreciated expression of sympathy. Her Family is grateful for the loving care she received at Porteous Lodge.
Kim, Phil, Chris and Jenn are thankful for the welcoming care we received while visiting over the years, and especially in the last week of Amy’s Life.
