Anne Zubko (Balysky) embarked on her journey to the earthly paradise on March 29th, 2025, awaiting the promise of resurrection and reunion with loved ones in God’s kingdom. She was 89.
She was born May 29th, 1935, at Glen Elder (Danbury) Saskatchewan. The youngest of 11 children born to Mike and Lena Balysky. She attended Danbury School and on November 18th, 1954, she married the love of her life, Dan Zubko of Stenen, Saskatchewan. They started out on Dan's parents' farmyard, in the Stenen district, in a "one bedroom shack", as she would say! They lived there for 12 years, and they were blessed with many children in that one room shack! In 1966 they built a beautiful home on their own farmland across the road and raised their family.
Anne was always busy on the farm whether it was helping with farming, making the meals, gardening or running the children to wherever they needed to be. Even if she was exhausted or busy, she did it all wearing that beautiful smile of hers. She would always take the time to go help others when they were in need and it didn’t matter if it was day or night, she was there! After 39 years they sold the farm and bought a home in Preeceville where she lived out her final days.
As a young child, her Grandpa Demchuk would read scriptures from the bible to her. He told her not to worry because whatever you need to know about life is in the bible. That is your guide to life. Many years later she discovered the truthfulness of her grandfather’s words while searching for the meaning of life and answers to many questions she couldn’t find anywhere else. She found them in the bible which helped her to keep going when she lost her precious daughters. She spoke of how she probably wouldn’t have been able to carry on if it wasn’t for the promise of resurrection as Jesus promised us all at Revelations 21-4.
She was baptized in the faith of the Jehovah Witnesses in 1974 and remained faithful to her beliefs all her life.
Anne owned and operated D&A Dairy Dip in Preeceville where she kept a lot of teenagers, including her own, working many fun hours. She also operated Johny’s Beach store at Crystal Lake for a few summers. When summers were over, she drove bus for the Sturgis school district for over 20 years. She retired in 1998 to spend more time with family and travel. She loved travelling and enjoyed many trips with family members to Manitoba, Ontario, Alberta, British Columbia, Arizona, California, Florida, Las Vegas, Mexico and even a Caribbean cruise!
Anne's most valued treasures were the people in her life. Family was priority and she spread her wings to enjoy each and every one of them. Her relationships with her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, brothers, sisters, nieces, and nephews were one of her biggest joys in life.
The strongest people tend to smile even during their toughest times. Smiling is a symbol of strength……KEEP SMILING LIKE SHE DID!

Revelation 21:3-5
3. With that I heard a loud voice from the throne say: “Look! The tent of God is with mankind, and he will reside with them, and they will be his people. And God himself will be with them. 4. And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away.” 5. And the One seated on the throne said: “Look! I am making all things new.” Also, he says: “Write, for these words are faithful and true.”
