Anthony (Tony) Keane passed away at Oliver Lodge in Saskatoon, SK on May 5, 2024 at the age of 81. Tony was born in Seershin, Furbo/Spiddal in the Galway district of Ireland to John and Mary (nee Walsh) Keane. Tony recounted tales of spending much time by the seaside, fishing as a young boy. Tony immigrated to Canada arriving in British Columbia in 1975, before moving to Saskatchewan in 1976 and where he called Saskatoon home. Tony shared stories of managing work camp accommodations in northern Canada before working for the City of Saskatoon in facilities. Tony was a man of deep faith and volunteered much time helping parish priests and others in the faith community, including at St. Mary’s, St. Paul’s Co-Cathedral, and his final home parish of Holy Spirit. Having lived in Saskatoon for many years, Tony was known by many in our faith community. His Irish wit and friendly demeanor will be missed. Tony is predeceased by his parents and his sister Mary in Ireland. Tony is survived by his half-brother Stephen in Furbo, Ireland. A Funeral Mass to celebrate and pray for Tony will be held at Holy Spirit Parish, Saskatoon, SK, on Wednesday, May 29, 2023 at 10:30 am with Fr. Ken Beck presiding, followed by interment at Woodlawn Cemetery. Friends so willing may make a gift in memory of Tony with the Diocese of Saskatoon at https://dscf.ca/memorial-donations/
