Audrey Enid Arthurs

It is with love and sadness that we announce the passing of our dear wife, mother, and grandmother Audrey who passed away on Friday, October 19, 2018 at age 91 with her family by her side. Audrey was born in Rosetown, SK on June 3, 1927. She moved to Saskatoon and worked for Eaton’s for many years while raising her family with Alvin. Audrey retired from Eaton’s in 1991 and moved with Alvin to Abbotsford, BC to escape the harsh prairie winters. She traveled widely with Alvin, both before and after retirement, enjoying many foreign adventures, hiking BC trails, and marveling at waterfalls. They enjoyed a remarkable 24 years of retirement in Abbostford before recently returning to Saskatchewan. Audrey was predeceased by her parents Sarah (Harrison) and George Cork, and her five brothers (Robert, George, Don, John, and Harold). She is survived by her loving husband of 58 years Alvin, her son Eric (Marian), daughter Bonita (Michael), and grandchildren Darcy and Carmen, and numerous sisters and brothers-in-law, nieces and nephews. Audrey enjoyed many rounds of Kaiser over the years, and was a formidable crossword puzzle whiz. She was a very kind and gentle soul, always calm and patient, and a huge source of love for our family. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her. The last part of her life was beset with health challenges but she rose to every occasion with dignity until the end. Rest in peace our dear sweet Audrey. A memorial service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, charitable donations may be made in her memory to the Red Cross, St. Paul’s Hospital, or to a charity of your choice.
