The family of Blair Vaillancourt is saddened to announce his passing at his residence in Saskatoon.

He is survived by his son Kaden Vaillancourt-Pettapiece, parents Emile and Nettie Vaillancourt, brother Mike Vaillancourt (Rosanne), nephew Carsten Beanlands, sister Colleen Vaillancourt, niece Leighton Vaillancourt, Kaden’s mother Stacy Pettapiece and his companion cat Grover.  As well as many aunts, uncles, cousins, friends and acquaintances.

Blair attended Father Vachon Elementary School and Mount Royal Collegiate, where he graduated. Blair enjoyed playing various sports, but hockey was his favorite and was an avid Montreal Canadiens fan.

In 1990, Blair joined the Army.  First training in Nova Scotia and stationed in Petawawa, ON.  He was then posted in Gagetown, NB where he proudly served a UN Tour of Peacekeeping in Bosnia from 1992-1993.  After his tour he was stationed in Kingston, ON until his discharge in 1999.

Blair moved back to Saskatoon in 2001 and in 2003, his son Kaden was born.  He was a proud dad and loved his son very much. You could hear Blair in the stands passionately cheering on, and giving his opinion, at all of Kaden’s activities.

Blair had various jobs throughout his life, with the most recent being in lawn care.

Blair was a true advocate for Veterans and suffered from PSTD himself. He tried to adapt and overcome his demons by getting help with his addictions.
