Brenda loved and cared for her siblings and foster children during her life. She was born and raised in Cumberland House and enjoyed reminiscing about working with her mom and dad in the coffee shop attached to their home. In addition, she assisted fishermen weigh their fish. She also loved spending summers at the fishing camp at Namew Lake. In the winter she loved figure skating, plus enjoyed being at the trapline, snaring rabbits, weasels and helping her mom. She enjoyed the stories told by her grandpa Lionel (Uniel) about the Riel Resistance.
During her life she loved being with family, travelling, seeking counsel and alternative medicine.
In the end she succumbed to numerous ailments that weakened her body, but not her spirit. She will be missed by many and will be lovingly remembered for her strength and wisdom. She wanted everyone to take care of their health, she especially encouraged everyone to become whatever they dreamed of becoming and to pursue a healthy future, to her grandchildren her final message would be to place a high importance on educating yourself and learn about your history that is the way to know yourself to be strong, get to know your language and live a healthy lifestyle and she thanks everyone that came into her life, it was you that left a mark on her life that she will forever cherish, she loves you and thanks you for giving her life meaning....
A Celebration of Brenda’s Life was held at 2 pm on Thursday, March 28, 2024 at the Cherished Memories Funeral Chapel in Martensville, Saskatchewan.
