Candice Lee Propp, 67, passed away peacefully on April 14, 2025, in her home near Saskatoon, surrounded by the love of her family. Her journey on this earth was one marked by love, gratitude, and an unwavering faith in God. Her light will be sorely missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Candice was born on January 24, 1958, in Regina, Saskatchewan, baptized into God’s family at Trinity Lutheran Church on March 9, 1958.
A few years after graduating from high school, Candice went on to marry the love of her life, Greg, and they joyfully welcomed three daughters into the world. She invested many years caring for her family as a stay-at-home mom and homemaker, adding many skills to the rolodex including sewing, cooking and baking, haircutting, coaching little league and skating, tutoring, and being the number one cheerleader at extracurriculars. Although not perfect, she was a wonderful role model of all that she wished for her children, demonstrating humility, a heart content with serving others, and the ability to find the good in every situation.
Later on, Candice went on to be a Meter Reader for SaskPower for many years. She thoroughly enjoyed walking outside and exploring numerous small towns in rural Saskatchewan. When physical constraints no longer allowed her to work in this job, she moved into a role in Home Care. With her innate desire to help and care for others, it was a perfect match and a role that she enjoyed immensely.
Outside of her family and work, Candice enjoyed the solitude of nature, gardening, and especially listening to, feeding, and watching the birds. In younger years, she loved playing baseball, figure skating, horseback riding and playing the organ. She had many fond memories of camping trips at Kimball Lake each summer, and ski vacations every winter with close family friends. Above all else, she valued her relationship with God, constantly seeking ways to serve Him, and found significant meaning in being an active member of her Christian community. She viewed each day as an opportunity to bless others, though she never expected nor desired credit for her thoughtfulness. She preferred to work quietly in the background.
Candice is survived by her loving husband of 46 years, Greg Propp; three daughters, Patti Propp, Andrea Propp, Carmen Propp and husband Mark Arron; two grandchildren, Kaia and Mackenzie Arron
She is also survived by her mother, Shirley Marquardt; brother, Rod Marquardt (Glenda Marquardt); mother-in-law, Margaret Propp; two sister-in-laws, Angela Schmitt (Larry Schmitt) and Carol Propp; two brother-in-laws, Brian Propp (Eileen McCay) and Ronnie Propp, and many cherished nieces, nephews, aunts, and close friends.
Candice was predeceased by her father, Willy “Bill” Marquardt and father-in-law, Reinhold Propp as well as other family.
