It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our dear wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother on Monday, July 27. She was surrounded by her family that dearly loved her.
Chris was born March 13, 1936 and spent the first few years of her life in Lake Lenore. Shortly after, her family moved to Saskatoon where she spent all of her growing up years. On February 27, 1954, she married the love of her life, Clarence Sick.
Chris is survived by her husband of 66 years, Clarence, and her three children: Gordon (Mary Lou) Sick, Corinne (Eric) Neufeldt, and Gwen (Roger) Bradley. Also missing their grandma deeply are her grandchildren: Lesley Sick, Janelle (Colin) Labrecque, Jason (Sonia) Sick, Matthew Neufeldt, Brett (Julia) Neufeldt, Justin (Catlin) Neufeldt, Joshua (Abby) Bradley, Kaitlyn Bradley, Jacob Bradley. She also had 4 great-grandchildren: Ellie, Adylyn, and Beau Labrecque and Owen Neufeldt. She is also survived by her siblings: Irene Krausher, Jeanette Bergen, Maxine Kitchen, Angeline (Lloyd) George, and Herb (Lois) Gerwing.
Chris will be remembered for her kind, gentle nature and her warm, caring personality. She was the life of the party and loved her family deeply! She grew up in a family of 13 and so she was used to spreading her love to each and every family member. She especially loved a game of cards and many of us have experienced her “rubbing it in” when she won!
Chris was predeceased by her mother and father, Henry and Mary Gerwing and her sisters Leona Murray, Agnes Sick, and Hilda Daviduke along with her brothers Norbert,Ted, Ed, and Art Gerwing.
“In the end it is not the years in your life that count, it’s the life in your years”. Mom lived a very full life for which we are so thankful! In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
