It is with profound sadness that the family announces the sudden passing of Daniel at the age of 85. He was predeceased by his parents Percy and Dorothy Jenkins, loving wife Irene nee Simpso, brother Jack, sister Patsy and daughter Wendy. He leaves behind daughter Gloria (Robert), son Ray (Brenna), daughter Alice (Bud), 13 Grandchildren, 10 Great Grandchildren, brothers Bob (Pat), Tom (Evelyn), Reg (Irene), sisters Barbara, Mary June, Judy (Robert) and numerous nephews and nieces.
He was known for his love of family, nature, sports fishing, hunting and dog sledding. For many years he ran the PA Dog Sled Club which kept him in great shape. He raised hundreds of sled dogs starting with Pal finally ending with Jasper and Bear Dog. During his life he worked multiple jobs including northern guide, heavy duty equipment operator, truck driver, demolition, and butcher.
In life he was a proud husband, father, uncle, grandfather, great grandfather, friend as well as a mentor to many in the ways of northern living.
He will be greatly missed by the family and friends. We invite those that knew him to a Celebration of life ceremony at the Army Navy Airforce Veterans Club downstairs 359 1st Ave N Saskatoon between 1:30 and 4:00 on Saturday 13 Aug.
