David Charles Taylor of Saskatoon passed away peacefully, with family members at his side, on Monday January 23rd, 2023.
David is survived by daughters Donita, Lori, Kim, son Trent, sister Dorothy and extended families.
David was predeceased by his wife Elva Beth Taylor (Barrons), daughter Cindy Copeland, son-in-law Roy Yorgason, parents William and Winifred Taylor and seven siblings.
David was born on the family homestead near Paynton SK. He attended school at Arbor Hill, Battleford and later Saskatoon Teachers College.
His first teaching position was in the town of Neville SK, where he met and married Elva on June 29th, 1956. The couple relocated to Saskatoon where David continued his 35-year teaching career until 1990.
During that time, they raised their family of five and enjoyed being grandparents. David and Elva were charter members of the Rambling Rovers Trailer Club and spent many summers travelling and camping with club members as well as their children and grandchildren. David was actively involved, at some time or another with; IOF, SBTA, CBTF, Saskatoon Lions Band Chaperone as well as giving over 100 donations to the Canadian Red Cross.
Daddy David was well loved for his witty, positive attitude and somewhat troublemaking ability. Family was happy he chose senior living at Primrose Chateau since 2019. This is where he carried through challenges with his cheerful and kidding manner, becoming a well-loved resident, sadly missed by other residents and staff. The family cannot thank the residents and staff enough for their care and kindness shown to their father.
Interment will be held at 1:30 p.m., Saturday, May 6, 2023 at Hillcrest Cemetery, followed by a Service on site at 2:00 p.m. with a tea to follow until 5:00 p.m.
