David George von Hagen

December 15, 1961 — March 11, 2025

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of David George von Hagen, born on December 15, 1961, in Edmonton, Alberta. David passed away peacefully on March 11 2025, surrounded by his family.

David was a dedicated and caring individual who made a lasting impact on everyone he encountered. As an EMT, David was devoted to helping others. His commitment to those in need made him a respected and admired member of the healthcare community.

David volunteered his time and energy including his work with the Jeux Canada Games, where he contributed to the success and spirit of the event.

David had a deep love for both animals and children, making him a beloved figure in both worlds. He had a special connection with animals, always taking the time to care for them, and he had a natural way with children, creating joyful memories.

David was known for his warmth, sense of humor, and loyalty to his family and friends. As the youngest of his siblings, he brought joy and laughter to those around him. Whether spending time with loved ones, enjoying the outdoors, or sharing a quiet moment, David’s presence brought comfort and joy. He was always ready to lend a helping hand.

David is survived by his mom Olivia; and his siblings: Wayne (Cheryl), Connie (Murray), Gail Sam), Kathryn (Ken) and his close friend Anne. David was predeceased by his father, Garry Arnold von Hagen.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the nurses and doctors at Palliative Care, SPH. Their warmth, care, insight, and peaceful acceptance helped guide David and his family through a difficult time, and their compassion will never be forgotten.

A private family service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of your choice.

David will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. His legacy of compassion, service, and love for animals, children, and his community will live on in the hearts of all who were touched by his life.

Cherished Memories is honoured to be entrusted with the care and arrangements for David.
