It is with heavy hearts that the family bids farewell to Dennis Schreiber who departed peacefully from this world on January 8 at the age of 84 surrounded by his loved ones.
Dennis was born in Kerrobert, SK to Margaret and Henry Schreiber. He grew up on the family farm and completed school at St. Thomas College. Shortly after, he met the love of his life, Florence Oborowsky and the two were wed in 1965. They made their first home in Saskatoon where they raised three children. His career in transportation took him from Saskatoon to Sherwood Park, AB and then to Biggar, SK in 1979. He retired in 1999 and spent his remaining years in Saskatoon.
Dennis had many hobbies and talents. Much of his spare time was spent helping others with carpentry and renovations, golfing, and fishing. The most important things to him were his faith, family and friends. He never missed an opportunity to make lasting memories with his children and grandchildren.
Dennis is survived by his wife of 60 years, Florence Schreiber (Oborowsky); his children Bonita (Jim) Elliott, Derrick Schreiber, Wes (Colleen) Schreiber; his grandchildren Brayden Elliott (Nicole Labine), Shelayna Elliott, Kaidree Elliott and Matthew Schreiber; his brother Ron Schreiber and sister Darlene Fitterer, and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his mother and father Henry and Margaret (Behm) Schreiber and brother Eugene Schreiber.
In lieu of flowers, please send donations to Greater Saskatoon Catholic Schools Foundation.
