Gordon Eckl 1968 – 2021
It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Gord Eckl on Tuesday, Dec. 28th, 2021 after a short battle with cancer. He will be greatly missed and lovingly remembered by his wife Anna, children Jade and Jordan, parents Wilfried and Waltraud, sisters Diana (Tom) Reisinger, Loretta (Mike) Nash, Anna’s family, as well as his aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and their families.
Gord was raised in Saskatoon and attended Walter Murray High School. After completing his apprenticeship in Europe and Vancouver, he received his journeyman certificate and joined the family flooring business. Gord enjoyed over 30 years of success with business partners whose talents and friendships he valued greatly. He was known for his integrity and honesty and was well liked in the industry.
Gord and Anna have 2 wonderful children, Jade and Jordan. Gord was devoted to his family and they were the motivation for his successes. He cherished them and especially loved the times they spent together at the lake. The family cabin was his retreat and the place where he connected with those he loved most. Gord was happiest when he was on the water, whether waterskiing, barefooting or knee boarding. Over the years he helped teach many others to excel at and enjoy the sport. Gord had a lifelong passion for things that involved speed and he loved racing cars, boats, motorbikes – anything with an engine. On Sundays you could find him at the golf course with his golfing buddies or enjoying quiet time at the cabin.
Gord had a great sense of humor and always had a joke to share. We will miss his strength, kindness and generosity.
In lieu of flowers Gord kindly requested donations to the children’s charity of your choice. He felt strongly that children are the future and that we should invest in them.
A family service will be held at a later date.
