The Lord granted Irene’s wish, taking her to be with Him and with those family and friends who preceded her into Heaven. In the early hours of July 11, 2019, Irene passed away at Saskatoon City Hospital, after a brief stay preceded by approximately one month in the care of RUH staff. Irene was born in Saskatoon on October 20, 1934 as Irene Emelina Williamson, and grew up in Prince Albert. Irene spent her married life in North Battleford, raising a family of six children. As a widow she moved to Saskatoon where she lived out the remainder of her life. Many of Irene’s mid-life years were spent working at the Saskatoon RUH. For roughly the last twenty years she resided at Elim Lodge in Saskatoon, before needing medical care as the Lord guided her Home. Her family thanks the Saskatoon RUH and City Hospital staff members for the care provided to Irene during her last few weeks. A celebration of Irene’s life and a celebration of her passing into Glory will be held for her family, friends and acquaintances on Tuesday July 23, 2019 at 2 p.m., at Erindale Alliance Church in Saskatoon.
