Jean Octave Ferrier

The loss of Jean Ferrier occurred in RUH Emergency on Saturday, April 6,  2024.  She was surrounded by the loved ones who could be present.

Jean was born to Amable and Mary Jane Pritchard (nee Piche) in Welby Sk. She grew up in the Qu Appelle valley in a large French/Metis family of 13 kids and 5 nieces/nephews that were raised by her parents.  She married DeRay Ferrier in December of 1958 in Winnipeg MB.  They then moved to Flint Michigan to be near DeRay's family, eventually relocating to Manitoba and subsequently settling in Saskatchewan.  This woman loved nothing more than large family gatherings as often as could be arranged.  

She is survived by 5 children:  Dee Dee and daughter Alicia with grandson Anikan of the home, Tammy and partner Dawn, Venus and husband Don and children DeRay, Amanda and Zachary, Zana and husband Doug and daughters Jeannie, Erin and Olivia, Dylan and partner Mikayla.

She had many great grandchildren whom she loved dearly.

She was predeceased by her husband DeRay in 2011, her son-in-law Mike in 2008 and Great Grand daughter Phoenix in 2016.

She will be greatly missed on Facebook where she enjoyed many hours contacting family and making many more new friends.  She loved nothing more than taking Selfies and many photos of others.  She is considered mom and Grandma to many more and is loved by all who took the time to know her.  We also wish to express our heartfelt appreciation to the fantastic nursing staff who cared for her in her final days.  Their love and kindness mean the world to us.
