Joan Mary Heaton

January 15^th, 1939 to October 31, 2019

Joan Mary Heaton, beloved wife of Harry Heaton, passed away peacefully at her home with her husband at her side and her family constantly with her.

Joan is survived by her loving children; Carol (Glen) Whalley, Stephen (Debbie) Heaton, Sandra (Fred) Francis, Tracy (Robert) Hoknes & Adam (Tamara) Heaton; 19 Grandchildren; and 15 Great-Grandchildren.

Joan was born on January 15, 1939 to Thomas & Alice Mears in Chesterfield, England.  She met her soon to be husband on Christmas Day in 1955, they were married on March 30, 1959.  She worked at various jobs until the family immigrated to Canada in October of 1976.

Joan will be lovingly remembered by all who knew her; she was an amazing lady with a fabulous sense of humor. She was lovingly referred to as Saint Joan by her husband’s Judo Club.

In honour of our wife and mother in lieu of flowers, we request that a donation be made to Breast Cancer Research.   The family will be holding an informal Wake at the family home in Watrous, from 1 to 6 pm on Sunday, November 10, 2019.
