Anne Sherman passed away on May 10, 2019 at the age of 85.
Born Johanna Ris in Amsterdam, Netherlands, on July 24, 1933, Anne endured the Second World War as a child. She was the fourth of five children born to George and Johanna Ris. In 1953, she came to Canada, a country she loved. She was proud to take her citizenship oath. She married in 1955 and became the loving mother to three girls, Jacqueline (Joe) Nogier, Donna (Ed) Koolick and Deborah. She was a devoted grandmother to Christina, John “Jamie”, Renee, Andrea, Christopher, Natasha and Ashley (who she raised), and great-grandmother to Larissa, Jessica, Owen, Drew, Riel, Mikayla, Grace, Rowan and Liam. Predeceased by her parents, brother George, sisters Bep and Truus, father-in-law James Sherman and mother-in-law Ann Sherman.
She is survived by her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, sister Frans in Holland and numerous nieces and nephews.
