It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Joseph Alfred Henry Renaud. Joe lived out his final days in the gentle loving care of the staff at The Wheatland Lodge in Leask Saskatchewan. His final struggle was with the disease of Parkinsons. We know that Joe made a lasting impression on all those who cared for him, and we can’t thank them enough for all that they did to make him feel cared for and loved to the end.
Joe leaves behind several siblings: Henriette, Irene, Ruth, Albert, Ann & David, as well as many nieces & nephews and great nieces and nephews.
Joe was predeceased by both parents Tillie Miller (Renaud) and Henry Renaud as well as his older sibling, Delma Pollard. Joe is also predeceased by a younger brother (Tony) and sister (Marlene), who both passed away in infancy, as well as his estranged ex-wife, Myrtle.
Joe was born in the small town of Leoville Saskatchewan. He was the first son and the second oldest of 10 children. Throughout his lifetime Joe has called both Saskatchewan and Alberta his home. He spent the last 29 years in Saskatchewan and called the town of Marceline home. Before that he called both Sunset House and Grand Prairie home.
Joe was happiest behind the wheel, and made his living driving throughout his life. Whether it was a bus he was driving, transporting a crew in or out of the bush or a cement truck out of Shellbrook are just to name a couple. He could also be found behind the wheel of a well-kept vintage vehicle or an old beater truck or taking a mini bike for a rip.
Joe liked the simple life and required very little in the way of luxuries. He smiled and laughed easy. He loved a good joke and found humor in almost any situation. Joe had a big heart and piercing big blue eyes. Loved by many, he was the kind of person who’d give you the shirt off his back if you asked for it. Joe you are sorrowfully missed.
Donation gifts in memory of Joe can be sent to The Wheatland Lodge in Leask.
