December 2, 1963 – December 8, 2022
Kevin’s family is shocked and saddened to announce his passing at the age of 59, far too soon.
Kevin was born in Prince Albert, SK. He attended Grade school in Regina and Saskatoon and obtained his Journeyman Electrician from SIAST in Moose Jaw, SK
On June 3, of 1989 Kevin married his high school sweetheart Angie. They had two boys, Brett December 23, 1992, and Tyson, November 14, 1998. Over the years of their marriage Kevin and Angie made homes in Edmonton; an acreage north of Gibbons, AB; Blairmore in the Crowsnest Pass, AB; Martensville, SK and for the past 7 years in Saskatoon and were planning on moving back to the Warman area in a year. A plan that they were both looking forward to. Each one of those homes has a treasure worth of stories and adventures, laughter, and trials as they created their history as a family.
Kevin worked in various Commercial and Industrial companies early in his career and then in August of 2009 he started his own company, Falcon Electrical Solutions. Kevin was very proud of this accomplishment. From this company he contracted for various Potash and Uranium mines in Saskatchewan and worked in the oil and gas industry in Alberta.
He had an incredible work ethic and was an excellent provider for his family.
To know Kevin was to know a man who had strong beliefs, loved his family, was loyal, hardworking and a little rough around the edges, you always knew where you stood with Kevin! He was generous, loving and so funny!
Kevin’s favorite pastimes were camping with Angie, reading (A LOT), working on projects in the house and yard, hanging out with friends and family, and just recently cooking.
He leaves to mourn, his wife of 33 years Angie Brakefield (nee Krieger), his two sons, Brett and Tyson, his mother Doreen Brakefield, sisters Leslie Brakefield and Lisa (Bill) Adamo, Mother-in-law Virginia Krieger, Sisters in law, Wendy (Brent) Zelinski, Shannon (Mark) Harder and numerous nieces and nephews as well as a very loving extended family of aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Kevin was predeceased by his father, Harvey Brakefield and father-in-law, Leonard Krieger
He will be missed beyond words.
We cannot begin to offer enough thanks to the staff of the Cardiac Care Unit, Ground Floor at RUH Hospital in Saskatoon. The care and compassion they showed for Kevin and his family will never be forgotten. From the bottom of our hearts Thank you!
Per Kevin’s wishes there will not be a funeral service held but we will have a celebration of life in the summer.
