Larry Edward Schindel

July 5, 1953 — January 16, 2025

Larry Edward Schindel, born on July 5, 1953 at City Hospital in Saskatoon, SK. passed away peacefully on January 16, 2025 at his home in Aberdeen, SK.  Larry spent his early years on the farm near Belbutte and moved to the farm near Aberdeen in 1970 with the Family.  He developed a deep appreciation for hard work, community, and the simple joys of rural life.  When the family sold the farm in 1994, Larry continued small town life by purchasing a home in Aberdeen and continued to live there until his passing.

Larry's Lutheran faith was the cornerstone of his life.  A devoted member of his church, he found strength, guidance, and purpose in his faith, which he generously shared with his friends and family.

For 33 years, Larry worked with CP Rail in the Sutherland yard, dedicating himself to his work which he took immense pride in.  After retiring at the age of 55, Larry embraced the next chapter of his life with enthusiasm.  He cherished his retirement and the freedom to spend more time with his family and friends and to just get in his truck and drive.

Larry's legacy is one of kindness, commitment, and love.  He will be remembered as a devoted friend, a beloved family member, and a man of steadfast faith.  He is survived by his brother, Percy (Audrey) Schindel, his sister, Marlene Cherwoniak, his nieces and nephews, Crystal (Troy Koepke) and Karrie Schindel, Herb and Gordon (Patty) Cherwoniak and numerous great nieces and nephews.  He was predeceased by his parents, Gustave and Lillian Schindel, his brother, Gussie Schindel and his brother-in-law, Herb Cherwoniak.

A celebration of Larry's life will be held at a later date.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to either the Diabetes Foundation or the Heart & Stroke Foundation in Larry's memory.

Larry will be deeply missed, but his spirit will live on in the heart's of all who knew and loved him.

Cherished Memories is honoured to be entrusted with the care of Larry Schindel.
