Linda Williams (nee Blender) passed away peacefully in St. Paul’s Hospital, Saskatoon, Saskatchewan on Dec. 30, 2024, after a short illness.
Linda was predeceased by her youngest son, Scott Williams in 2019 and her ex-husband and father of her children, Norman Williams; as well as her sister Gloria Smith, and her parents, George and Muriel Blender.
Linda is survived by her eldest son Dale Williams, and his wife, Susan, as well as her grandchildren, Robyn (Chris) Plomp, Cary Williams (Jessica), and Daryll Williams (Britany); and her brother Gerry Blender (Lynne), along with numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family.
Linda moved to Saskatoon in 1987, and for the last 5 years, was resident in a Rehoboth Care Home where she enjoyed interacting with the other residents, as well as care staff. Linda enjoyed crocheting and reading mystery novels, and was an active member in St. Matthew's Anglican Parish in Saskatoon. She was an eager student in the church’s bible study and enjoyed participating in the various charitable efforts the church undertook. Gardening was truly Linda’s passion, and she had a vegetable plot at the care home as recently as this past summer.
Many thanks go out to the amazing staff at Rehoboth Care Home and St. Paul’s Palliative Care Unit, who ensured Linda had great care always. The family is very thankful for everyone’s efforts in this respect. Donations to St. Paul’s Palliative Care Unit or the charity of the giver’s choice are greatly appreciated in lieu of flowers. A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, Jan. 3, 2025 at 1:00 pm at St. Matthew's Anglican Church - 135-109th Street West, Saskatoon, SK followed by a light lunch.
