It is with great heartbreak that we announce the death of Mackenzie Lee Trottier. She was born June 18,1998 in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. Mackenzie is survived by her loving parents Paul and Gina Trottier of Saskatoon, beloved little sisters Sadie and Laurenne Trottier, devoted grandparents Greg Rossmann, and Roger and Rosemary Trottier also of Saskatoon. Mackenzie was predeceased by her beloved grandmother, Bonnie Rossmann with whom she shared a special bond. She leaves behind many aunts, uncles and cousins who miss her deeply.
In her early years, Mackenzie was a vibrant, cheerful and exceptionally bright child. Her strawberry blond hair, dancing green eyes and mischievous nature endeared her to everyone who met her. Mackenzie found the most joy and peace in nature, often exploring the island of her family's cabin and spending summers at Kenderdine campus. Her true loves were animals - she was always taking in any strays she could find - and music. She was gifted with a beautiful singing voice and those that knew her best were blessed to hear it as she was very shy. What was a brightness as a child developed into a sharp wit that she lovingly used on her family, especially her father, Paul.
Later in her life, Mackenzie experienced many difficulties but remained close to her family who were always her number one champions and support. Mackenzie went missing on December 21, 2020, and over the last 3 and a half years her family and extended family have never given up the search to find her. Now that she is home with us again, we ask that you respect our privacy in this time of grief.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the SPCA, Hope Restored Canada (Saskatoon branch) or Prairie Harm Reduction. A Celebration of Life will be scheduled at a later date.
