Margaret was the most amazing, loving, beautiful, strong Métis woman inside and out. She taught her family to be proud, to love and embrace our Métis culture. Anyone and everyone who had the pleasure of meeting or knowing her would agree, that she has left and instilled a memorable imprint within each and every one of us.
Whatever struggles or obstacles Margaret faced over the years as a single mother of five only made her stronger, wiser, she never gave up.
The love for her family and friends was shown in many ways. One of everyone’s favorite ways was her cooking and baking. Especially her Bannock, bread/ buns and the many different kinds of cookies, tarts, and cakes. She learned all these special skills from her mom, she then passed these skills to her daughters, grandchildren who will now continue to live by her legacy and teach these special skills to her great grandchildren as she watches from heaven.
On behalf of Margaret’s family they would like to extend their gratitude for all the support kind words, the phone calls/ texts, the flowers, and meals that were provided during this difficult time.
A special thank you to: Board of Directors and Staff of Central Urban Métis Federation Inc. (C.U.M.F.I), Margaret’s family doctor DR. Petrucha, SHR DCF Directors Judy D, Natasha B, Community OT Holly D, Seniors First Services, Golden Mobility, Father John, Ms Dunbar(Holy Spirit Parish), SHR Home Care and CPAS for the years of your committed support in providing Margaret a good quality of life.
