It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Muriel Marie Lafrenière (nee Lepage) on January 6, 2025. Muriel was born on September 14, 1945, in Cudworth, Saskatchewan, to Edouard and Germaine, one of 11 children. Muriel was predeceased by her loving husband of 58 years, Lionel.
Muriel took great pride in her three sons—Raymond (Helen), Eddy (Nicole), and Gerald (Tracy). Muriel’s grandchildren and great-grandchildren were a source of immense joy for her, and she loved hearing about their adventures and achievements. She treasured family gatherings and the special moments they created. This past Christmas, Muriel beamed as she took part in the annual family reunion, a beautiful reflection of her deep love for her family.
Over the past months, Muriel’s days were filled with prayer, activity, and community at St. Ann’s Long Term Care Nursing Home. She forged new connections with caregivers and residents, and her family would like to express their gratitude for the welcome and peace she found there.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Ann’s Senior Citizen Village at 2910 Louise Street, Saskatoon, SK S7J 3L8, or online at https://www.canadahelps.org/en/dn/28225.
A Mass celebrating Muriel’s life will be held at Paroisse Sts. Martyrs-Canadiens, Saturday, January 11, 2025, 10:30 am. Please join the family for lunch and fellowship in the church hall immediately after the service. Interment will be held at St. Donatien and Rogatien Roman Catholic Cemetery in Prud’homme, Saskatchewan.
