Patricia Elizabeth Ivy Cook

With great sadness we announce the peaceful passing of Patricia Elizabeth Ivy Cook (Pat) on May 16, 2024, at St Paul’s Hospital, Saskatoon, at the age of 80, with her loving family by her side.

Pat was born on Aril 29, 1944 in Croydon, England to Oliver and Amilia (Millie) Gunderson. At the end of World War II, Oliver and Millie traveled by the ship Mauretania to Canada with a very young Pat. Once they arrived in Canada, they settled in the Warner and Lethbridge area of Southern Alberta where Pat spent her childhood with her sister Karren and many cousins.

On April 23, 1960, Pat married the love of her life, Martin Cook. Mart and Pat settled in Magrath, Alberta where their two children Laurie and Randy were born. In 1966, Mart and Pat moved their small family to Uranium City, Saskatchewan. In 1982 Saskatoon became home until Mart’s passing in 2011. In 2012, Pat moved to Airdrie, Alberta to live with her son and family. Then in 2021 she moved to Martensville, Saskatchewan to live with her granddaughter and family where she remained until her passing.

In addition to being a very devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and homemaker, she also worked as a hairdresser, bookkeeper, and retail store manager until her retirement in 2010. She had a profound love for dogs, and throughout her life there was many that held a special place in her heart 
Pat loved spending time with her family, baking, cheering on family in all types of sports and trying to teach everyone how to roast the perfect marshmallow over a fire.

She will be sadly missed by her son Randy (Karen); son-in-law Robert (Carol); grandchildren Regan (Amber), Jessie (Jessica), Melissa (Dustin) and Stephanie; great grandchildren Cadence, Taryn, Carter, Naomi, Hailey, Brielle, Brady, Rhythm, Thunder and Brynlee; sister Karren; sisters and brothers-in-law Norma, Myrna, Floyd (Helen), Donna (Art), and Keith (Ann) and numerous nieces and nephews whom she loved and cherished dearly. Along with many life-long she made over the years.She was predeceased by the love of her life, Mart, her beloved daughter Laurie, parents Oliver and Millie, parents in law Norman and Fern, and brothers in law Burt, Jim, and John.

A Celebration of Patricia's Life will be held Friday, June 28, 2024 at 1:00pm at Cherished Memories Funeral Service, 591 Centennial Dr. N., Martensville, SK. For those unable to attend, a live stream link has been set up at https://funeraweb.tv/en/diffusions/94068
