Rennie Ratti

On October 11, 2023, my loving husband of 25 years Rennie Ratti (a.k.a. Texas Wolf) passed away, surrounded by love. Born May 23rd, 1943 at home, he was a hard-working man starting at the age of 13, when he left home.

We met when he crossed the scales at the Weyerhaeuser Mill where I worked in Prince Albert in 1993. In our marriage we were together always. I can count on one hand the number of times we spent a day or weekend apart. Waiting for me upon my return, there was always a bouquet of flowers and a yellow rose by my bed.

Rennie was a proud truck driver for over 60 years, and had the back to prove it. He retired in 2018 at the age of 75, due to declining health. He once told me that he had driven more miles backwards than I had driven forwards.

His passions included working, horses, fishing, hunting, old Ford trucks, Kaiser, nature, family get togethers, and last, but not least “happy hour”. He hated to be idle, and would likely have continued working past the age of 75 had his health allowed him to

He will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Thelma Skinner, his children, Lorreta Brost, Albert Ratti (Cheryl), Rene Ratti (Lisa), and Lisa Fraiser (Collin). He leaves behind eight sisters, one brother, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and brother-in-laws. He was a predeceased by parents Aurore and James Ratti, brother Ronald Rathy and grandson Brody Jones.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Some of Rennie’s words of wisdom to all of those who loved him would be “Never say whoa in a tight spot”, “There is no such word as can’t” and “talk is cheap, but it takes money to buy whiskey”.
