It is with great sadness we announce Reta Olnhoff passed away peacefully with family by her side on November 11th, 2023. Reta was born in Belwood, Ontario on August 28, 1939.
Survived by her spouse of 15 years Elmer Schiedt, son Terry (Fay), grandsons Justin (Kyra) and Wade, daughter Sherry (Leon Turgeon), granddaughter Kaylee and granddaughter in law Melissa (late Tyler) (Braydon Jeske), great granddaughters Annaliese and Eilee, her brother Roy (Betty), many nieces and nephews, Elmer’s family and countless friends. Her family and friends meant the world to her and she adored her two little girls.
Mom was predeceased by Dad (1997), grandson Tyler (2015), her brothers Mervin and Fred and her sister Donna.
Mom and Dad met in 1960 at a ski resort in Woodstock, Ontario and after moving to Regina, Mom and Dad were married in 1963 and raised Terry and Sherry in Regina until moving to Saskatoon in 1973.
Mom started her career at the Bank of Montreal in Regina and then in Saskatoon until her retirement in 2010. Over the years mom enjoyed many activities including bowling, knitting, cards, golfing and fishing. Mom could out fish any one of us. Many memories were made at our family cabin at Nemeiben Lake. Mom also loved going to the casino.
The family would like to send a special thank you to the staff at St. Paul’s Palliative Care Unit for such wonderful care you provided to Reta.
Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will take place on Saturday, December 2nd, 2023 at 1:30pm at Resurrection Lutheran Church, 310 Lenore Dr., Saskatoon. Luncheon to follow. A livestream link has been set up for anyone unable to attend at https://funeraweb.tv/en/diffusions/82040
