In Loving Memory of Ronald James Folstad
With gratitude for a life well lived, we announce the peaceful passing of Ronald James Folstad on Monday, December 16th, 2024.
Ron was born on October 22, 1944 in Birch Hills, Saskatchewan to William Parelius Folstad & Elsie Margaret Folstad. Ron was the fourth of seven children. Surrounded by the love of his family, Dad left this world peacefully, leaving behind a legacy of faith & love.
Dad is preceded in death by his parents, Willie & Elsie Folstad, his brothers Harold & Sam Folstad, sister Barbara Larson, brothers-in-law Glen Hanson & Art Berg, niece Nova Folstad, sister-in-law Helen Borowsky Folstad, nephew Timothy Hanson and great-nephew Jordan Hanson. He was a devoted husband to Bonnie, his beloved wife of 55 years, a dedicated father to Susan (Ivan) Toledo & Sean (Tanis) Folstad and grandfather to 5 beloved grandchildren that made him light up like a Christmas tree: Adam Folstad, Joshua Toledo, Liam Folstad, Aaron Toledo & Sarah Folstad. His memory will also be cherished by his sisters Carol Berg, Enid Hanson and brother Dale (Denise) Folstad, brother in law Louis Larson, sister in law Gail Schalin as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins & friends. Dad’s legacy extends to a large family and broad circle of friends, a testament to a life well-lived and a heart well-loved.
Dad’s vast experiences, numerous jobs and business ventures demonstrate a robust sense of adventure & abundant life. While he was most certainly an entrepreneur, adventurer, dreamer and visionary, above all he was a man of faith.
Our family would like to express our deepest gratitude for the outpouring of love and support during this difficult time. We will miss him but are comforted in the belief that Dad is preparing to celebrate his first Christmas in the presence of Jesus, his Lord & Saviour.
A funeral service to celebrate his life and legacy of faith will be held on Saturday, December 21st at 1pm at Saron Lutheran Church at Hagen, Saskatchewan with Rev. Scott Kopperud officiating. For those wishing to attend virtually the service will be live streamed at the following link
