Trudy Langenhoff

Trudy Langenhoff, 74, passed away after a valiant 3.5-year battle with cancer.

She is survived by her loving husband Roger, three children Tina Langenhoff (Scott Zook), Michele Lawrence and Brad Langenhoff as well as her beautiful grand-daughter Brielle Lawrence.

She is predeceased by her parents Alfred and Clara Saretsky.

Trudy was born on July 15, 1949 in Humboldt, SK to Alfred and Clara Saretsky and grew up on the family farm in Burr, SK. She attended high school in Humboldt, SK where she met Roger. They dated in high school and were married in 1968. They moved to Thompson, MB where Roger worked in the mines and later, they purchased an Esso Service Station. While living in Tompson, they had Tina and Michele. They moved back to Saskatchewan where shortly after, Brad arrived.

Roger and Trudy started farming in Fulda, SK where Trudy was a home maker, raising the kids and managing a quarter acre garden. With this busy schedule, she also worked part-time at Shoppers Drug Mart and started a successful at home business where she marketed a health product called Intra.

In 1986, Roger and Trudy sold the farm and started a new adventure in Saskatoon, SK where they ran their own business (AutoCheck) for over 20 years. During that time, Trudy also worked at Superstore at the customer service desk. Realizing she was happiest being her own boss, in 1998, she opened and operated a successful home decor gift shop called East Village until she retired in 2012.

After Roger and Trudy retired, they purchased a 2nd home in Goodyear, AZ where they wintered for many years.

Trudy had many diverse interests. A little-known fact, as a young woman she raced stock cars (Powder Puffs league) in Tompson, MB. She enjoyed cross country skiing, camping, fishing, golfing, travelling and Toronto Blue Jays baseball. Her favourite player was Alejandro Kirk who she affectionately called ‘Kirky’.

Besides being adventurous, she had a creative side. Trudy enjoyed ceramics, macrame, tending her flower beds, and home decorating. She was an amazing cook and her unique recipes will continue on at family gatherings. Trudy could become quite animated when playing UNO, Sequence and Kaiser but where she really shone was being a grandmother to Brielle. Whether it be her crawling on the floor playing peek-a-boo or teaching Brielle how to fish.

Trudy was a loving wife, caring daughter, dedicated mother and loyal friend.

She will be missed by all.
